Announcement Ceremony of the Certified Trademark "Cao Lãnh Limes"

On September 2nd, the People's Committee of Cao Lãnh district held a ceremony to announce the  trademark certification of "Cao Lãnh limes". Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Sự - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Lãnh district, said the district has 797 hectares of limes, concentrating in Bình Thạnh and Mỹ Hiệp communes, and some others along the National Road 30. Each year, Cao Lãnh district supplies to the market about 26,000 tons of limes.

Cao Lãnh cooperative has 27.3 hectares from 41 limes growers which are certified VietGAP for the production. According to Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Sự, the building of the brand "Cao Lãnh limes" is to protect the value of the local specialty associated with the legality of trade relations; and this is also the commitment of producers to consumers in prestige, quality, and safety of products for export, increasing incomes for the local citizens.

The district People's Committee directed the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development to create the regulations on and the use of trademarks in accordance with the current legislations. This is the second fruit of Cao Lãnh district being certified by the National Office of Intellectual Property (under the Ministry of Science and Technology), the previous includes the trademark "Cao Lãnh mango" and "Cao Lãnh Cát Chu mango".
